Anyone fans of this??? It has clearance for 3.8 stroke, blind tapped head bolt holes, etc..., and I've also read it can be bored to 4.5'', lol can anyone say 427 small block??

Retails for about $1500 bare block, only thing left to do is final hone of cylinder walls.
Jerry Clayton has the low down on the SHP blocks----He sez they're good, that's good enough for me!!!! Might want to PM Jerry on the price, think he's got some info on that as well!!!!!!
Dart says "max recommended bore and stroke 4.165" x 3.750", so you won't be able to make more than a 408 out of it. Before I spent that kind of money to build a 408, I'd be thinkin' big block. You can bore some BBC blocks to 4.5", but there are no small blocks that will go out that far. The bore centers are too close.

i'm just considering it over a junkyard block simply because of the "new" feeling of it. there's just not a good machine shop for 100 miles and i don't want to drive that far with a "possible" block. Rather just go to get it honed to my pistons, etc.
Looking at a 355 though for that nissan, your 383 build was nice, but then realized i didn't need anywhere near that much power...400hp will make me happy at the crank. looking at edelbrock/dart alum heads 2.02/1.60 185cc runners on shp block with roller hydraulic cam and dual plane with a 650cfm. 400hp worthy?
The shp block just needs a finish hone job for 4.125 bore size( about .010)
We stock Callies crank and rods,Mahle pistons for 4.125 bore, 3.875 stroke , internal balance( 414")
Dart says 4.165 on the bore but we can go to 4.200 with the right felpro gasket ( 429")
Angle bolts on center caps, 2 piece rear seal, standard cam location
Bolt holes are blind
We have been sending these all over USA and also some to Germany, Austria, Australia, Domincan Republic

I don't know down there, but if you brought it here , we charge 250 to disassemble, clean and inspect---the disposal of all the hazmat garbage, and complete inspection to see if it is rebuildable takes about as much time as doing the machine work and fitting
we won't finish hone a block without the pistons so it takes two set ups to bore/hone a clean straight cylinder and then when the pistons come another for finish size
Yeah, so it's really just pride vs. price here....
I can build an awesome motor with a salvaged non-cash4clunkers block lol, but I can also build a WAY AWESOME motor for a little more $$$ and have new parts.
I think the convenience/laziness of the SHP block outweighs the extra $$$....even before considering Splayed 4-bolt, blind holes, and NEW castings with a Bad@$$ brand name on the side. ??? Not to mention Roller Lifter towers for the spider, (saves a couple hundred bucks when selecting valve train parts).
The shp is a good deal but also for a while Dart is having a special on the little M stuff with aprox 200 off the price to combact the chinese imported deal
