Hey Cookster, I am not going to assume anything. Do you have a carb that is adjustable? If yes then you need to set your idle with a vaccuum gauge. First adjust your idle in park to lowest rpm with the highest vaccuum. Probably some where around 900-1000 rpm. Do this by ajusting the idle screw at the accelerator bracket and the idle air screws. After obtaining good idle in park block the tires and put car in gear. If it stays running adjust air/idle screws to highest vaccum possible. You might have to adjust idle screw and air/idle screws several times to achive highest vaccuum at lowest idle rpm.PEACE, BUD
