chev 302's back from the dead

I have one more set of #186 fuelly heads . They are low mile heads untouched 194/150 with the front bolt holes . I bought the 4 bolt 350 block from a Corvette guy for $50 bucks . I asked him what happen to the heads . He said there in the corner of the garage . I said COOL $50 bucks more I had them . I Like fuelly heads for a under 400 HP SB Build . But I do not want to spend tons of cash building them . Last set I did I used Screw in studs that did not need the bosses cut down . And a mild pocket porting with new S/S 194in/150ex valves with a set of Z-28/LT1 springs . They were good to go went on a 355 with the XE268H Cam right around 375 HP . This is what the screw in studs look like . COOL

yep been in the hold still seat to many time the one time the numbing drops wore off and they still were digging with the grinder

I used the valves from Italy they worked out well . The valve stems were a bit on the large side of 11/32" :LOL: But this was good because they were for a set of old Fuellys :cool:

yes thats why he uses them. im just sick of being told what i have is crap and it wont work. if i could f-ing afford afr's and a solid roller and allum i beams what do you think i would have????

The heads that a lot of guy make a big deal out of . Are the 305 #416/#601 with the 55-58cc Chambers . Stock they have 1.84in/1.50ex valves . Lots of guys sink ton's of money in them . They go with 194 in/ 160 ex valves screw in studs guide plates . And for the porting that needs to be done Hours :( Also more times then not they are cracked but this still will not stop guy from repairing them and selling them . I bought a set for a budget build from E-bay . And they were from a large Engine shop with a good rating . This is what they sent me :mad: The guys said there good to go cracks repaired ? And I did tell that guy if the heads are cracked i do not want them . These are the heads every one needs to check well before building them up .

you'll love it when i get the old timer into the 9's thats another build and story. in the works for this summer. ill be the best day of my life when i prove alot of people wrong:D

Them small journal SB Chevy's are no Joke . I have seen high 10s from stock class drag cars with 327s and #461 fuelly heads .:eek:

robin brown runs 9.80's with a 283/4 speed in his 67 nova. abe loweman runs 10's all day long with a 302 in a 98 grand am. i keep close tabs on the S/S and S/E guys they are cool people to talk to. in seattle last year there was a 55 chevy with a 265 poppin low 11's !!!! WHO CARES HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS, if people were concernced with how expensive racing was there would be no top fuel :eek: whats really great is when you see 283/327 in full size 65-67 impalas and 64-68 chevelles running 10's and 11's

Just drill the crank for the bolt to hold on that harmonic damper . My friend sent his damper threw the radiator at over 8000 RPM on his Camaro with a 327 S/J .

those are why i cant fit into a regular race seat now :eek: i like the green and yellow ones :D although on race day if i eat anything <rarely i jsut go water and gatorade all day> ill eat orange and yellow.

thats why it takes me forever to get going gotta warm upt he 20-50 and gear oil when its this cold thats why im more active in the summer;)

i think some eating of some crowe is in order, catrol is a bp product :LOL: ive not been able to afford castrol lately and ahve been having good luck with just shell brand oil straight 30 in the daily driver it burns off slower which is good for me!
