I'm certainly no Chevy expert, but I built the '99 Vortec for my T and saw no material differences in it vs the old engines. The one piece seal was nice and easy to install also, much easier than the old two piece ones IMO.

Mine was a marine engine that I rebuilt. I ran an electric pump and left the stock roller cam in it to save some $$$$. Ended up that the cam is pretty good on the street, lots of low end torque and I don't care about top end in this one. They say marine cams are close to an RV grind. Haven't ever verified that, but it sounds reasonable.

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
