I'm certainly no Chevy expert, but I built the '99 Vortec for my T and saw no material differences in it vs the old engines. The one piece seal was nice and easy to install also, much easier than the old two piece ones IMO.

What kind of fuel pump and camshaft did you run . Your block is not drilled for the fuel pump rod ? Thanks

Mine was a marine engine that I rebuilt. I ran an electric pump and left the stock roller cam in it to save some $$$$. Ended up that the cam is pretty good on the street, lots of low end torque and I don't care about top end in this one. They say marine cams are close to an RV grind. Haven't ever verified that, but it sounds reasonable.
