i have see the phenolic puck go side ways on hp stuff and oil by pass is made to pass the filter at the point were the spring dumps it that is it . the oil pump hase one in it to the one in the pump can be shimed or a new spring put in to get it to a hi er psi on the oil if you need more psi. cv makes a kit were you can move the psi on the by pass on the oil pump with out going in the engine and playing with the oil pump by pass spring thick oil and a car that setting in the cold or plug oil filter will make the filter by pass . bypass this ok but not for race stuff how do you know you oil is getting filtered?? if the spring is bad or weak you will not filter this is not ok with me .
