so anyway what is a good aftermarket head you would recomend for a 12:5-1 302 chevy? dome pistons .500 .300 <single profile> cam with an rpm air gap? 4:88 gears 10 inch 3500 stall <thought this info would make it a little easier>

The CNC heads sell for around $1,200.
That would be loaded up with 2.02/1.6 valves,Crane springs good to .550 lift,7* degree H.D. keepers,7* steel retainers,Teflon seals,5/16ths guide plates,3/8ths studs.
If you want to get buy cheaper order a bare set of the Dart Iron Eagle S/S heads.
Do a lot of bowl work yourself, do work around the valve guide etc, polish the combustion chamber.
Load the heads up with 2.02/1.6 valves same valves springs locks and retainers etc.listed above.
You should be able to get them done for around $750 if you do a lot of the port work yourself.
I have gotten over 450 hp with the mods. done to the Dart heads above on a 383 using a mech. cam and flat top pistons.

Well I've sure gotten old too so don't worry about it! I've had two bypass surgeries, new knees, fought prostate, cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,...
