    the block may need some work for the rods to swing thru some of the older block s are not cut out for much more then the 3.760 crank . some of the last IV blocks GM made before the V blocks had the casting open up like a 454 crank case and a 4 1/2 crank will just about drop in with not much work with H beam rods will help or any rod with short cap screws bolts
