Has anyone or does anyone know if this combo will work?
Tall deck 427
Deck 10.20
bore 4.310
Stroke 4.250
Rod 6.800
Pistons compression height 1.270 -3cc 8.7:1
118cc Heads
Math says it will work but will the rods clear OK? Thanks for any help or commits. I have this stuff taking up space so I thought I might try and build a 496.
the block may need some work for the rods to swing thru some of the older block s are not cut out for much more then the 3.760 crank . some of the last IV blocks GM made before the V blocks had the casting open up like a 454 crank case and a 4 1/2 crank will just about drop in with not much work with H beam rods will help or any rod with short cap screws bolts
