Erik--I wasn't suggesting a tall deck, just stating what I had done with one, I could of used a shorter ch custom piston and longer rod but used a 427 truck core including the oil pan , and production 454 12/1 cr forged pistons from trw or speed pro. one of the biggest things was adapting a distributor because of the plates between heads/manifold raising it
