    Trans Help Please

With the help of a freind ( who worked for G.M. for 2 yrs doing trans ) we rebuilt my turbo 350. we used a B&M rebuild kit, and built it to B&M specs. Machined the pistons for max cluch's ect. we did everything to tight tolarances. put in street / strip shift kit. ( witch it already had ) and put in a 10" in" converter. Stalls to 3200 and works great. used type F fluid. My probem is. it doesn't shift as hard as it did with the wore out trans. The only changes other than the rebuild, was new case, different pump and going from @ 1800 to 3200 on the stall. i'm very confident on the rebuild, just dont know why the shift is so much softer, any advice would be helpful. could the converter cause this, even when shifting manuely it doesn't seem hard as it should be.????

shifting hard will not make for a better trans i would think you line psi could be bump up and then you can bust the back of the case out .if clutch pack are set up tigth they may not hit as hard they never did on all my 400s

I'll second this man's thoughts and add one more. The th350 with B&M guts will even like the F fluid more. Dont have to tear it all down. You want to see nice solid shifts come back? Lower your V.B. and take out all the B&M junk and put in a transgo th350 1 and 2 kit. Oh ya use the big red spring instead of the orange where it says for HD use. When you look at transgo and B&M stuff side by side you'll swear your swaping same for same. NOT SO. You'll see those rotating parts come to life. With that kit it'll either hit third at 20 in town or 50 comming onto the highway depends on the throttle position. At WOT it'll hit third about 80 and depending on your HP to weight ratio it'll bark the tires. OR you can hold it in any gear as long as you want if your not in "D". B&M dont do bad with the inner rotating goods but they fail on the V.B. stuff.
    Hope I've helped

PS. I'll bet at PT shifts in "D" it does the 1-2 a hair harder than 2-3,but neither will pull you outta your pants. Tell me if I'm guessing close
