    I think I'd find a different trans shop.. Were they flying the skull and crossbones over the building??
    I remember when hot rods were all home made.

    Well the trans shop was AAMCO if that means anything, yeah I'll drop the pan and look and no its not a 4 w/d it was my wifes grocery getter and school bus only had about 130,000 miles on it never towed anything or hauled heavy stuff.

    I just replaced the same transmission in my 99 Chevrolet van. And that was the price the local shops wanted here too. But I found a local rebuilder talked to him, paid cash and changed it my self for a whole lot less than half. Edd
    God, guns, cars and 1 wife, I would say I have it all.

    That explains a lot. I have a 700R that they built that never did work right but the bill on the "rebuild" was 1800 bucks...They swapped out the original corvette unit and put in a standard unit they had pre built on the shelf on top of all of that. That shop was in St Augustine FL..
    I remember when hot rods were all home made.
