I have a 4l80e w o/d that is in an older suburban and it stopped wanting to shift into 3rd and then no reverse. took it to local trans shop and they quoted me

$ 2800-3200 dollars estimate probably closer to the 3200 the manager said

I drove the car there and back for estimate, I've heard parts are pretty pricey but wow anybody have any experience with this trans and costs.

This tranny is bolted to a 454 I'd like to put in one of my cars possibly 57 Chevy thats why i,d like to keep em together.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
