    cracked my trans case.

     



    overtightend my trans line and cracked the case. looking for permanent fix but will consider temp fix. I didn't loose any metal just have a hairline crack.

    JB Weld 'Perm-O-Seal' and some prayer is called for. May hold for while, may not.

    Actually probably not given the temperatures, corosive trans fluid characteristics and pressures involved.

    That's what Jiffy Lube thugs would try to pull on you if they screwed it up I've heard.

    thanks man, can the case be welded its a t350. oxy acet with aluminum rod? should I take it to a welding joint? anymore input from you guys will help.

    Not in the car and with the trans togther...and probably wont hold. IMHO...i would find another trans case and have all the insides installed in it from the broken case trans. A T350 can be found complete all day lone for 50.00 at a salvage yard. Or Craigslist.

    The guy I bought my 4X4 from cracked the filler hole on the transfer case, about an inch worth. He put J B weld on it, its been about 5 years ago and it still looks like it did when I got the truck. The J B weld is some amazingly tough stuff.
