Dave, these seem to be excellent transmissions and came in a number of cars including Camaros, Firebirds, GTOs, Cadillac CTS-V (Yes Cadillac!) and also Dodge Vipers. So you can find them in wrecking yards if you don't want to spring for a new one. A friend of mine has one in his 68 Camaro with the new LS7. He gets 20+ MPG on the highway with it, plus has a great time with those nice low gears.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Yup, and now they have it with the Ford Bellhousing, too!!!! Might work quite well behind a mild Windsor......

Dave if you want to make one bullet proof so it will stand up to that mild Windsor, check with these guys: http://sixspeedsinc.com/index.asp

Thanks for the link, Pat. Got to do some studying on that one! Looks like these guys have their poop in a group for us shifty types!!!!! The torque capability is a concern, not so much on this engine, but i want a streetable six speed in the Ranchero, too... Having that double overdrive lets me go play in traffic, and still have some good deep gears for a bit of Saturday night action downtown..... Yur the best!
