we spoke on the phone for quite a while. they offer a basic rebuild for $1850, but that's with basic parts, only 1 year warranty, and the only extra included is the rear main seal. with the slightly bigger price tag, it will basically be a corvette trans, with 36 month warranty, the new torque converter is included, and they're throwing in the really easy, like the vss and tranny mount for free (as if free, really exists ).

the previous owner thought he was a garage guru, and put a bunch of mismatched "performance" parts in there. and the wiring is a hack job with rewiring. the old torque coverter hub is cracked and the converter is probably full of junk from the other parts wearing.

i don't feel like i'm getting a steal here, but i don't feel like i'm being robbed, either, so i guess it's cool. sometimes we spend time (like when i put my new engine in my other truck) and sometimes we spend money.
