    Jeff,
    I think tremacs are late model 5 spds etc..
    In late 50's and early 60's T85's were HD 3 spds.T86 I'm not sure about.Just measure seal with dial caliper and buy what fits. u joint should'nt be a problem. Good Luck

    Your '65 Ford should have a T86 full-synchro 3 speed. The T85 is the older crash-o-matic gear grinder low tranny. The T86 is a good box.

    R Pope is right. I have one in my '27 and have heaped out bunches of abuse on it, and no problems what-so-ever. Mine came out of a '68 Galaxy, essentially same as your unit. Shifts like butter with Hurst linkage. Not sure, but I think these were run in GTO's for awhile due to some fire or something at the factory? Not sure of the exact details on that, though.
