Pat,
This is what I have learned about the Rack & Pinion. Look the picture!
The tie rod should be parallel with the lower control and the ball joint of the inner tie rod end should be in the same line between the inner joints of the upper and lower control arms to minimise the bumpsteer!
I may be using wrong words but tell me if I'm wrong!
