E cables/system is one of the easiest things to add to a hot rod. You are probably intimidated because the stuff is unfamiliar. I use 3/32 stainles airplane cable, to divert it use 1/4 solid steel rod and bend it to form a 'shepards crook' that the cable passes thru. To terminate i drill a hole in 5/16 dowel cut to about a 1/4" long (it looks like a nut without the hex shape), drill a hole big enough for the cable, slide the cable far enough dso that it comes out the other side and weld it up. The adjusters and couplings (to join the whips at each wheel) are oem and dirt cheap, i was at a swap meet earlier today and saw a whole carb full of adjusters for 3-4 ea. Use your original '32 emergancy brake handle/mechanism, just make an adapter to mount it to the tranny.
