    E brake

Wondering if anybody ever tried to use a twist and lock pto cable for a e brake? I have no room in my 32 truck for standard brake systems. The only problem I can see is how sharp of a turn the cable can make. I have rear drums with cables already attached. Any ideas?

You have no mechanical advantage with a pull cable. Use a linear actuator to pull the cables. You can mount it under the car where the cables come together. then all you need is a dpdt swich mounted anywhere you want and two 16g wires from swich to actuator and one 12v + wire to swich

E cables/system is one of the easiest things to add to a hot rod. You are probably intimidated because the stuff is unfamiliar. I use 3/32 stainles airplane cable, to divert it use 1/4 solid steel rod and bend it to form a 'shepards crook' that the cable passes thru. To terminate i drill a hole in 5/16 dowel cut to about a 1/4" long (it looks like a nut without the hex shape), drill a hole big enough for the cable, slide the cable far enough dso that it comes out the other side and weld it up. The adjusters and couplings (to join the whips at each wheel) are oem and dirt cheap, i was at a swap meet earlier today and saw a whole carb full of adjusters for 3-4 ea. Use your original '32 emergancy brake handle/mechanism, just make an adapter to mount it to the tranny.

no room for the handle or cables? I just finished up putting a brake from my wrecked camaro in my car. I cut the junction out of the floor and welded it in the tranny tunnel on the '35 up out of the way. the handle/crank is a little big, but I am going to cut it down and/or build it into a console. I have seen plenty of handles mounted just under the seat..maybe you could try that?
