    1936 Plymouth Coupe

    I have a1936 plymouth with a 383 chevy . I am going to change
the Mustang II dropped spindles back to the standard one.
Does anyone have a shock that they would recommend? I am trying to get a better ride.
I still have the old coil springs not sure if they are standard or not.

These guys will have the correct spring to use for the weight of your car. Call 'em. The correct shocks to use will be the stock units to fit a '78 Mustang II. Choose standard or heavy duty from Pep Boys, Autozone, or wherever.

    Up in front

I think that you are on the right track in lifting the nose back up.
I don't have any suggestions to add, the above like is a good one, I believe. What I am looking for is your chassis set-up. I have an original 38 2-door touring and am in the planning stages. Just looking around to see what works for other and perhaps get a different perspective.
    Good luck in the search.

Thanks for the reply! I have only had the car for 6 months and it came from CO Springs. I am just getting it set up to ride better, I like driving it around not just setting. So I can't tell you much about the chassis set up.

The next one I build I'm going to use stock car suspension parts. Much cheaper than the Mustang II stuff, and you a have a wider varity of parts to choose from, including some very good brakes.

Thanks for the info ! I think this is the way to go for me at this point. I don't want to start over and get into a lot more money.

    Good luck !

I can get a nice ride and have something that handles well.
tHANKS FOR THE INFO ! I think i will go with the stock material also. I think the standard spindles will bring the height back up so I can use the standard springs for mustang II and the stock shocks. I have a power steering unit for the manual steering one
I can replace also but don't know how much trouble I would be asking for. With the surpentine belt and power steering pump and hoses. iT DOES NOT STEER BAD TILL YOU SLOW DOWN TO A
    SLOW ROLL.

    Volare front end

    71Demon,

Could you post any pictures of the Volare front end being added to the Plymouth coupe. Were you fabbing a complete chassis, or did you add the K-member to the stock chassis.

You mention that the Volare front end is self contained. What other Mopar models share that K-member (or similar).

    Thanks, Mark

Can you post a photo of the assembly. This really sounds like just the ticket!
