Don.... I run a West Marine fuel tank in my "Pail" in the box in the back and I have a sendin' unit and a '69 RS/SS Camaro Flip open cap on it.. This should fit yer needs and ya kin paint it black too! It's "plastic" and they come in all different sizes too..

Do you think that could serv as a temp tank for my car just to get it to my grandparent's to store it, my dad said it woulden't be a good idea. I have a hole in the trunk arleady ( it's for the liscense plate light wire and a rubber casing goes round the wire), I could slide the rubber wire casing down so I could fit the 3/8" rubber hose through. My dad has a 3 gal model that we use for the 5 horse trolling motor on our boat, I could use that 1.
