Hey Don, how about one of the race shops and have them fab you up an aluminum one??? Or maybe a 16 gal plastic cell from Jeg's or Sumitt maybe???
I can make one from alum or ss,but I would just like to buy a junk yard tank. They sell for $35 around here & the material to make one would cost about $150(alum) & take me 2 days.
This is a project for my son & we are trying to build a rod for under $10,000.
Thanks Don
This is going to sound really goofy, but have you looked into a Ford pickup tank? they are rectangular, and just may fit that space
Dgr84 - I have only looks at Chevys up to this point becausr my gase gauge is GM. I'll start looking at other cars as soon as the current hurrican passes.I also thought on the small trucks.....Don
I have a Geo Tracker tank in my Model-A. It fits a small space and has a GM sending unit. I had to remove the in-tank fuel pump for my application, but otherwise it was an easy fit. Holds about 10 or 12 gallons.
hey don if its for ur chevy p/u, ya may want to looka at a fullsize blazer or suburban tank. they come in several sizes up to 40 gal, & w/a little frame trimming they fit nicely inside the fame rails in the rear. i have used them several times on the 48-54 chevy p/u's that i have taken the bomb out from behind the seat. you do have to move a brace to the rear of the truck & then fab up another for the front of the tank so ya can strap it in.hope this helps ya. or if ya want inside the frame rails look at a S10 tank but they are only up to 20gallons..joe
Do you think that could serv as a temp tank for my car just to get it to my grandparent's to store it, my dad said it woulden't be a good idea. I have a hole in the trunk arleady ( it's for the liscense plate light wire and a rubber casing goes round the wire), I could slide the rubber wire casing down so I could fit the 3/8" rubber hose through. My dad has a 3 gal model that we use for the 5 horse trolling motor on our boat, I could use that 1.Quote:

It's getting to be colder weather so I gotta store it sometime b4 snow flies but I still can get some more bodywork finished b4 then. I just didn't want the car to quit on the way down there and figured I'd ask whail you were on the subject. I knew you had a boat tank in your pail but I didn't know if it was permenent below deck tank or a portable above deck tank.Quote:
