I had the same problem with a 60 chevy 348. The engine was bored .040 and using new pistons I had my compression go from 9:5 to 11:5. After I shut it down it wouldn't start and I had to retard my timing for the engine to turn over. I don't know if this is your problem but I thought I just mention it.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
