 Part Two:

Well I pulled the passenger side off today and found the problem. Yikes! The linings had seperated from the shoes and were in several pieces. Fortunately, the drum was fine and mic'ed within the max tolerence. Put in all the new stuff and should be good to go.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm blessed to be able to still do this and enjoy it. I have had my share of "Oh nuts..." experiences (where I dropped the little screw that holds the points in the distributer - on a gravel driveway in the rain at night....) but for the most part, I really like fixing stuff and especially car stuff. My 2022 Navigator has "no user servicable parts" and while I love the comfort and refinement of the newer cars, looking under the hood might as well be a module from a space ship."Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." John Basil Barnhil

I was talking to the guy that sold me my F150 in 2017 earlier today! It's "Truck Month", which doesn't really mean a whole lot..., but with the extended warranty expiring in May and the monthly cost to extend being $120 I've been considering shopping for a new one. Need? No, but like you I'm not going to be grabbing tools and diving under the hood any time soon! When I bought this one I stopped doing any real work on it, taking it to the dealer for routine oil changes, etc. I'll still wrench the Jeep and the hot rods, but not the space station.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
