Welcome to CHR! I've not messed with a Chevy of that vintage, but the only door glass I did long ago just had a strip of flat rubber, almost like a tire inner tube with the width equal to the inside measure of the channel. Seems to me that to get the frame off I used a piece of 2x4 against the glass and rapped it with a hammer. The channel was narrower at the open side, making a tight friction fit pinching the rubber to the glass.
There's several YouTube videos of door glass on Chevy trucks of that time. Have you done any Google research?Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
