    1972 Chevrolet c30 longhorn custom model /

Hello everyone. I'm a younger guy who just bought his first classic . I'm learning more about the truck I bought each day. I'm having a bad time figure out what it was exactly from the factory. I did the Vin decode and that all checks out. It's got a 350 with a automatic turbatic 400 and 396 gears I believe.

Any extra help would be appreciated. I'll post a few pictures. Thanks in advance IMG_4049.jpgIMG_4051.jpgIMG_4058.jpg

Welcome to CHR and very nice truck you have to start with. I for one love Longhorns. Check the SPID label on the back side of your glove box door. If it is still there, it might list what gear ratio it was ordered with. Being that truck has a small block, you may have the eaton HO52 rear end. Chances are it is 4.10 gears if so.

Here that is yeah I'm not sure on the rear end. The guy I bought it from did do a lot. He told me he put higher gears in it. It also does about 95 mph currently so I think that would mean yes it has the higher ratio.

Thanks for the love I'm falling more in love with it daily

Welcome to CHR I too have a love for the 67/72 C10s I've had at least 5 seems I finish them and someone else wants it. They are good trucks yours looks to be near rust free. We don't get them like that here in MI. Good luck with your project.

I think everybody loves those truck including me. They are probably the best looking pickup ever made in my opinion and it looks like you got a very nice one to start with. I'm from Iowa and most of the time you can see though the floor on pickups around here.
