On all 12 volt wiring always make sure you have a large a ground hooked up as you do battery cable, I run one right to the starter mounting bolt, whatever amps that are being fed through the positive cable must go back via the ground wire. I am not saying this is your problem but its going to be asked real quickly to make sure you have a large enough ground and not simply using the frame. Welcome to CHR
