Apparently, this is not an uncommon thing. I googled "Haneline", and found a link to a thread on The H.A.M.B about this subject; a lot of guys there have had the same, or worse problems with this manufacturer, tried a number of fixes that didn't fix anything, and are still kicking things around. Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.
