    We considered that the lifter was dead - but that would make two in a row and my machine shop (who has been doing this for 30 years plus) thought that the chances of this were about slim to none- I replaced the lifter before the cam to eliminate that possibility and then once the cam continued to go south from a previously bad break in, replaced the cam and we are still where we are.

    Which reminds me of a question I don't think that I addressed earlier, the break in oil was dumped from the engine after the break in, and it was good break in oil that was used and the oil in it now has the zinc add...

    well yep i own a machine shop and been at this for 30 years so why i am on here at 12:16 ? i like to try to help no matter what some on here may think it late yes i do now under stand you did that . did any one check the lifter bores for size ? still say the nuts back off if you just turn it ever so . but i can not help much there is many thing s i asked about that you never did reply on i need all of what i asked to be checked if you need my help .i need to know them things .if you want to call .if you do not under stand me you can call me please at lunch time as i build and machine engines i am very busy .you can find the phone number if you want to call go to McCarthy Performance / Racing Engines to 632+ Cubes or face book mccarthy performance now time for bed
