That sounds like the port for the Thermactor System. The air pump used to connect to those ports via a metal tube that crossed between the 2 heads and then a hose to the air pump. The EPA says no you can't block'em off -yeah, right.....
They make a lot of noise without anything to quiet down the sound, don't they?!?!

Thinking he was speaking of the block. If its the thermactor holes a short as possible 5/8 coarse thread bolt will block them off

This is on the back of the block right under the passenger side head and it is 1/8 pipe because I started a 1/8 fitting in it that comes in a oil pressure gauge kit. I think it would be safe to just block it off. I hope!!!

I think there is a threaded hole facing outward dont thik its pipe thread. Dont remember ever seeing it used. Might be for the trany dipstick tube in a van possibly.
