396 to 582 can be 9.800 deck block stock Gm block is about 512cid or abit more bigger CID a after market block but not much past 600. 10.200 block can start as small as Gm built it 366 tall deck and not much more bore with that .block .going to GM 427 tall deck not hard to go to 500s cid moving to a after market block in 10.200 your staring point can be 500 EZ and past 600 .most stop and i have built 632s then bigger can be done by moving up the deck of the block and cam for longer rods to clear the crank counter weights and moving up the cam so it can clear the rods. my 735 cid was a donovan 11.500 HC deck and 400 cam HC stands for hi cam that engine used a 5.500 crank . with stock gm spacing max bore on most race blocks is 4.625 and you could get it to 4.630 or just a hair more with custom pistons . engine s from hi 500s to 632 need very big heads and some use the big chief heads base of pro stock moving bore spacing and head and alot of $$$ gets you past 800 cid .more money then you can think of . most of my builds are stock blocks 9.800 454 block=.496 cid the 9.800 after market max 566 with a 4.250 crank this work ok but a 4.375 can be used i used this cranks in stock gm block and after market . then 10.200 most guy start at a 4.500 crank or a 4.750 to end up at 632or 638 i build some of them to
most guy s like the stock deck 9.800 so stuff can fit
