I'm with Jerry. Why would you want to run 8.5" wide wheels on the front of that car? I would think the look just cannot be right.... That said, I still believe that your front end components (ball joints, a-arm bushings, tie rod ends, etc) are not 100%. Fix the front end, get it aligned, then come back.
