If EVERY set of pistons you have used vary that much I got a few tips for you---

Get a better measuring tool-----
Get someone else to measure them---
buy a different brand of pistons---

I doubt that the 4.030 pistons measured anywhere near 4.029-4.031(maybe 4.025---)
