These can be an exercise in frustration. Sometimes we find tools in unexpected places. My bride does craft stuff, quilts, paint art, collages, stuff like that. One day I see this neat looking stick like thing in her kit, it's called a folding bone. Nice rigid plastic with smooth edges, kinda pointy at one end, more rounded at the other, pic below. (yeah, I've got one of those "official" windshield, nylon type too, but this worked better and less prone to damaging the rubber) It worked great on the one I did in one of my '36s. You basically have to push one edge into the groove, then roll and tuck the other in. Once you get it started you set up a rhythm and it goes fairly easily. Lubricate with liquid dish soap or silicone. Keep an eye on location from time to time so as to not bunch it up or stretch it too much and end up with a problem at the end of the channel when you make the turn.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.
