Don, I agree. I found a guy to cut my front & back glass that moonlights on rods & customs, but he insisted that he glue them in so they were done right. I was amazed at his consistency and craftsmanship, and the two pieces cost me less than $100 for the installation ($220 total cost) done at my shop 25 miles from him, and 15 miles out in the country. There's no way I could have gotten the smooth, professional finish that he did on the mastic - too many tricks after 35 years doing it
