Well i did a 39 Chevy pickup for a guy with the Mustang II clip and a manual rack (per his request) Only took him about 6 months before he was back wanting the power rack. I drove it with the manual rack and although it was not overly hard to steer the power rack was much more user freindly.

I had a non power R+P steering on my pro street car. It steered fine but it was a light car. I have talked to other guys and was told if the vehicle is light power is not necessary, if its on the heavy side, you may want to use power.

If u have PS now and want to get a better feel for the road maybe a external pressure valve is needed. I just added PS to my MII FE as I could not stand fighting the wheel anymore. It was OK jyst going straight but any parking or turning around etc. was tuff. I had to add some shims to the pressur valve in the sag' pump tas it was to loose . Still could use less pressure to the rack.
