    Teflon, ok for fuel lines?

Im starting to get the fuel system plumed on my camaro and just wondered if teflon tape was safe to use on the fittings. I've heard rumors of it getting into the fuel mix.

The only place it should ever be used is on a pipe fitting. Yes, if applied incorrectly, it can get into the fuel and then into the carb or fuel injection - and you can in effect cause major problems. Myself, I wouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary, but would replace a fitting(s) first before resorting to this band aid.

teflon is not a solvent sealer . no sealer needed for fuel lines. the flare is the seal.

I have used it on fuel lines forever. Just make sure it is on the threads only. Never had a problem. Edd

unless it is a pipe fitting, no sealer should be needed.

Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

AN shouldn't need anything. I've used it on the NPT side... If you use Teflon keep it at least 2 threads away from the end of the fitting
