    Question about spot welding

I have been welding my roof on my 1929 ford, I have been spot welding the roof and I was wondering how much of a gap can be left between the welds... now the biggest gap is about 1/8 of an inch... can I start grinding the welds or is more needed?? one other question with the visor should I slide that under the front of the roof and then weld the roof down onto it? of course I need to cut an bend the ribs down to match the back but any suggestions on how to fit it would be appriciated...

    thanks,
    simon

i spot weld and grind welds flat. so it is weld .grind .weld .grind till done .that way your not stacking weld up .i weld it all shut .just keep i eye on your heat from welding and sanding i like a stone to cut the weld down the stone will not brake down like sanding disc and put heat in to the metal
