Question about spot welding
I have been welding my roof on my 1929 ford, I have been spot welding the roof and I was wondering how much of a gap can be left between the welds... now the biggest gap is about 1/8 of an inch... can I start grinding the welds or is more needed?? one other question with the visor should I slide that under the front of the roof and then weld the roof down onto it? of course I need to cut an bend the ribs down to match the back but any suggestions on how to fit it would be appriciated...
thanks,
simon

i spot weld and grind welds flat. so it is weld .grind .weld .grind till done .that way your not stacking weld up .i weld it all shut .just keep i eye on your heat from welding and sanding i like a stone to cut the weld down the stone will not brake down like sanding disc and put heat in to the metalIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
