I always use two stands and leave the jack after lowering it just enough onto the stands... beats a couple lengths of 4x4's we've seen on here before Ramps are good unless you need to take the wheels off...

A little story about ramps. Not 12 ton ramps but the ones you buy a parts stores. A friend of mine was pulling his car up on a new pair of ramps he was near the top and he hit the brakes to slow down not wanting to go into the stops. When he hit the brakes the ramps colapsed as the front wheels locked up but the rear kept driving. Good heads up on the stands. Glad I finaly got a hoist, but there are maintanance isues there also. SAFETY DOSEN'T JUST HAPPEN
