My battery box is mounted on the frame, passenger side, underneath the rear seating area about 12 inches in front of the right rear tire. I have no trunk nor anyplace under the hood for one. Good location except when you need to replace it. Then you better have a lift to get to it.

I thought I had a pic of the batt mounting we fabbed for the glass 32 3 window I did, but apparently I've either lost them or didn't take any. But here is the finished trunk area. The battery is mounted on the passenger side just in front of the finished panel you can see. The floor in mine was even more convoluted than yours because of a raised rear crossmember (to lower the car). The way we dealt with that was to make MDF panels that formed the "square" area you see here. In the process a well was formed to mount the battery, it was a 925 version of the Oddyssey battery, very compact yet powerful. The passenger side also had a panel installed so the battery ended up hidden in a "no mans land" between the passenger compartment and the trunk compartment along with storage space for stuff like cleaning supplies, a few tools, whatever. The panel you see is held in place with velcro to allow access.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Bucs012,I have the battery in the 34 in the exact spot as yours.A slight angle is ok ,as the batt is not always level as you drive up and down hills on the road. You can measure the difference front to back of the batt and fabricate a frame to make it level, then mount your box on top of the frame. The void between the seats and trunk is really a good spot to put a lot of add on things like batt ,fuse panel, stereo antenna, etc.JMO
My panel is velcro on top and mounting studs w/brackets from the steel frame on the bottom (See Gallery)to carry the weight of the panel.Don D

Buc's, The guy who built my car put my Optima battery in the passenger compartment centered right behind the seat {'32 Ford 3 win.}. I have since moved it to the trunk. My front seat hit the battery so the seat wouldn't go all the way back. So I moved it with a battery box just like IC2 showed in his pic's..... Bill
