    I've let this thread slip by. Looked through the last few pages. Sorry you had trouble with the LS. If I had it all to do over again on my car, I think I would have stuck with the SBC I already had. LS stuff is way too expensive if you can't use it as it comes out of the donor vehicle.

    Looks like you'll be rolling soon. Still have some cruizin' time before the end of the season.

    Car has been running great since I did the engine swap so I’m happy.One issue I’ve been chasing is a parasitic battery drain. If you let the car sit for 3or 4 days; the battery went dead. I changed batteries, changed the alternator, and went through the harness but no luck. I ended up putting on a kill switch but decided to start over troubleshooting it. I finally found it! I bought this little alternator pigtail online and it came with a ring terminal on one wire that went to the battery terminal of alternator and the other wire went to ignition. I finally figured out they were switched and I had battery power constantly going to the ignition side. Switched them and problem solved! What a PIA!

    Draining after a few days would be real annoying, nice catch. Rita's battery will run down after a couple weeks but I haven't looked into that yet.

    Temperature can effect a battery's life too, such as setting directly on top of a cold surface. A piece of 1/2" styrofoam insulation between the bottom of the battery and cold steel battery tray can lengthen the battery's life considerably.

    A couple weeks in a newer car is normal with the security and clocks and stuff.

    I’ve been putting this little detail off forever. Also decided to ditch the 4:11 rear gears and bought a set of 3:23. It’s currently turning 3500rpm at 70mph and I’d like to get that down.

    Battery drain.... My plow truck kept killing the battery after a day or 2. Finely found that the up and down switch was supposed to be self centering. It wasn't the up side went back to center when you let it go , but the down didn't. Took a long time to figure that one out as when you park the truck you drop the plow and the switch stayed down. Not any more.

    I always thought that 3.25 or 3.50 were the perfect gear ratio compromise. I've got 3.90 now and always thought I'd go back to one of those two I mentioned.

    These things can definitely be sneaky and hard to find. My son had a Firebird that had a light in the console that was supposed to shut off when you shut the console lid. His didn’t and it would kill the battery. Took forever to find that one. Mine is good now; sat for a week and fired right up.
