That's true, dave. You set out to do one small job and find out that several other things have to be done first. Here they are installed; figuring out my coil mounts next.
Pat you continue to amaze me w/all the work you've done to this car.....joe
.
Thanks, Joe. With any luck all this work will someday turn into a running, driving vehicle.
Great work on it, it's looking really nice!
Ditto you have truly done that car justice your a huge inspiration with my Desoto build love everything you have done keep up the amazing work
Thanks! I have a week off work in December and I'm hoping to get this to the point of firing the engine for the first time.
I finished my coil mounts and have been bolting more things on the engine. I'm off work this week and really hoping for a test fire next weekend. Lots to do before that so we'll see how it goes this week
Nice work Falcon, looks good with the coils put out of the way! I can almost hear it running from here!!!!
Got the fuel cell and pump mounted today along with lengthening the wiring for the coil packs. Hoping to get the fuel system plumbed over the next few days and a battery tray built for the trunk.
It looks very nice! Where did you get the fuel cell? I was on the fence last week about getting one from summit. I saw ones like what you have on ebay for a good price too. I decided to wait because no one can tell me if the foam in them will break down from diesel or not. the sales rep at summit says it won't because they are listed to be safe with alcohol and diesel shouldn't hurt it. I'm in no rush so I'll research and see.
I've been hitting it hard this week and am hoping for a test crank tomorrow. Wont have the cooling system piped yet but at least I can see if it will start. Got my battery box in and wired, fuel system finished, some temporary oil and temperature gauges hooked up plus lots of miscellaneous stuff done. Also bought these wheels from a late model Mustang. I think they'll look good although the fronts are hitting the tie rod ends so I'll have to figure out something there. Maybe some wheel spacers.
It's alive! I didn't run it very long as I don't have the radiator hooked up yet and the float in my Holley was hanging up. But it fired up, built oil pressure, and sounded pretty darn good. This thing may get finished after all.:D
Way to go Falcon!
