    Hi.. we dropped a 88 corsica's 2.8 into a 91 lumina eurosport....

everything went fine.... we got it all together started beautiful...

then we drove it..... i get some minor hesitation... and its enough to know somethings wrong..... does anyone have any suggestions????

ide appreciate it... i did find a couple of discrepancies as far as the sensors go.. so ill be working on it...

Im sorry but im not even qualified to work on an ohv motor let alone some computer controlled ohc motor. The closest thing I have to smog equipment is the piece of pipe I used to replace where my muffler was.

I don't usually work on anything that small but I know a 2.8 has a reputation for being a piece of crap. The 3.1 is a much better engine. Neither engine is potent enough to belong in the hot rod talk area but then we don't have a forum for sidewinders.
My guess would be that the computer isn't set up for the sensors on the 2.8.
Good luck and if you ever get a chance to buy another 2.8 don't do it.

2.8 MAN I HAD ONE THAT BROKE THE CRANK IN HALF AT 4000RPM BOUGHT A NEW CRANK AND THE CAM BROKE LEAKED OIL THE WHOLE TIME SORRY IT THE WORST MOTOR I HAVE EVER SEEN I WOULD HAVE RATHER HAD THE 2.5 IN THE S10 THAN THAT THING.

ON THE OTHER HAND THE 3100 IS NOT A BAD MOTOR I HAVE ONE IN MY GRAND PRIX BOUGHT A FORGED CRANK, TRICK FLOW PISTONS, ARP RODS,EDELBROCK HEADS, CRANE CAM, AND CANT REMEMBER WHO MAKES THE TURBO'S BUT TWIN TURBO'S.
IT FLYS MESSED THE TRANNY UP IN 3 WEEKS HAD IT MODIFIED NOW IT SPINS THROUGH 3 OF THE FOUR GEARS I WOULD SAY IT'S A GOOD MOTOR.

    Thumbs up got it!!!

SAy I did get this thing running nicely... believe it or not the errors were based on a bad knock sensor and a unhooked vacuum line... its running beautifully... thanks for all the help... and the computer I think has allowed it a higher rev and shifts at a higher rpm which doesnt bother me....

    thanks again guys...
