1956 Pontiac Steering Column
I have a replacement steering column for my old Pontiac, but my car is a Hydra-matic transmission and the column might be for the Strato-flight transmission. The main difference is the Strato-flight had "Park" and mine does not.
Now, the columns are identical. The shift lever that attaches to the transmission shift linkage has the exact same travel distance. The thing is, the linkage arms are slightly different shapes. Does anyone have any experience with this? Are they still interchangeable? It was a bear to get out and I'd rather find out now before I put the new column in.
Thanks in advance! It's not really work unless you'd rather be doing something else!
