Was he referring to the 70 specifically? That seems odd since the location is set more by the front K member than by the trans crossmember. The 70 only shows one V8 K member for wedge engines and one for Hemis. The 3/4" back difference does occur if you put a later K member in a '62-5 B body. It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
