    fuel amount in a barrel

this would be a tech question, kind of. does anyone know how many gallons of gas can be produced from a barrel of oil ? and also is a barrel of oil being considered 55 gallons or something different ? ,

    ok i found this, http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/wh...arrel_oil.html

if i am reading it right 51.4 % fuel means around 21 gallons of gas.

I don't know the answer, but they don't only get gas from that barrel of oil.

A barrel of crude is 42 gallons.
(And gold is measured in troy weight - 12 oz to a pound vs 16)

    Denny's attachments are good reading

    6.7, rounded to 7.0.

Must be damn small monkeys or an overly large barrel.

Shredded, fileted, crushed or deboned - and voila' - more monkeys will fit no matter what sized barrel. Yeah, I know, sick

By the looks of Denny's pic, I'd say you could fit more into the barrel if you wipe those silly grins off of their faces...

You will never see two articles match regarding the amount of gasoline produced from a barrel of oil.... the yield is dependent upon too many variables including where the oil came from, the process (they can change the process to yield more of a particular product), etc. Plus, each refinery runs a different yield. According to some friends who work at refineries, some of the info is not made public; only generalizations are given.
