permatex form a gasket aviation no.3 i use many things other then this 3m weather strip cement works good to hold gastets down and OMC typ M .hylomar and teflon dope on studs and bolts .i try not to use sillcone much if i do i only use it on one side of the gasket if like a oil pan gasket the sillcone will push out the gasket when you draw down the bolts so i will use 3m cement on the block side to the gasket and then go around the oil pan rail with RTV then draw it down but not to tight then let set up over night then a 1/2 turn more
