Hey Grinder; that is the same thought I had so I took the shaft off at the diff and found that I had about an inch free play even when the hub was horizonal with the diff, so I doubt that is it.

Now, there is about a 1/4 inch room in the centre circle of the shaft where it mates to the diff. In other words, the mounting flange has about a 7 inch diameter which is recessed, and then there is a 5 inch circle which fits into the diff flange, however the center does not make contact with the diff, this is direct from OEM. So I am wondering if I made a 1/4 inch plate to try and put pressure on the center of the shaft housing so as to give it support, if that might be a good idea or a horrible idea. Me thinks bad.
