I would like you to not rule out other options. The S-10 frame kicks up just behind the cab for the bed. This will put the S-10 frame above the rear floor of your car.
The car will also have less value than other options & other options are easier to pull off & less work.
If you are trying to get by cheap look into using a Must II IFS & Crysler 5th ave rear springs........let us know how you are progressing with your car.....DonDon Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).
